Skills Workshop
Review & Team Building
Each Workshop will be designed to blend various skill levels within the scope of the Occupational First Aid training programs.
Participants should have a minimum of Level 1 training in order for this workshop to be effective although members of the Emergency Response Team that do not have Level 1 training are welcome as well.
OFA Levels 1, 2 & 3
Specifically developed handout material will be provided to
support the learning & team building outcomes for each workshop.
Workshops review…
- all basic life support skills (including CPR & choking),
- oxygen therapy (where required)
- minor wound care,
- recognition and management of head and spinal injuries, upper and lower limb injuries, abdominal injuries and conditions, eye and facial injuries, thermal injuries and conditions and medical conditions.
Develop and Reinforce Team Building and Communication Skills
Review situations and scenarios to build on current knowledge and skills.

Effective Patient Management
You may want to develop or add new skills…
- focus on children or playground injuries
- special needs or concerns
- introduction to AED
- “What to do in the first 3 minutes…”
- casualty simulations
First Aid Attendants have similar skills and goals. This Workshop is designed to make sure that everyone is ‘on the same page’!

Emergency Response Teams
Available in ½ & full day sessions. May be coupled with other training or review sessions ie. WHMIS, Earthquake Preparedness etc.
